Honda launches new 2019 CB650R with more power and “Neo Sports Café” design
Honda unveiled the new 2019 CB650R at the Milan motor show (EICMA) 2018. It is the replacement of the CB650F and comes more powerful and design of the CB1000R, called “Neo Sports Café”.
The new Honda CB650R takes CB1000R as inspiration, adopting the same design lines. It is modern and minimalist, and mixes café racer inspirations and a supercompact ‘trapezoid’ form.
The engine is the inline four-cylinder of 649 cc and now generates 95 hp of maximum power. The maximum rotations increased by 1,000 rpm to 12,000 rpm limit. The maximum torque is 65 nm and was developed to be delivered more smoothly and linearly.
The chassis and the tank are new and with that it was possible to reduce 6 kg, comparing with the CB650F. Other equipment and technologies that were not on the CB650F are: Showa 41 mm USD front suspension, radial four-piston calipers, floating discs and new wheels.
The riding position is more sporty than street, with the new conical handlebar. The headlamp is round and LED (in fact, all the lighting is LED) and the instrument panel is new and fully digital with gear indicator.
The CB650R also received assist/slipper clutch and selectable torque control (traction control).
It arrives in the stores of Europe later this year as 2019 model.
